A conservation trust in the Champlain Islands of Northwest Vermont, SHLT holds events, collects donations, and helps connect consumers with local agricultural producers. Their site serves as a resource base for residents and visitors with maps, trails, information on conserved properties, and portals to conserve land for the future.

Highlighting the reach of the Trust was important to display how donations and volunteering contribute to the efforts of the Land Trust. We used an embedded Google Map to help give context and geography to SHLT's progress.

Events are paramount to engaging members of the community into the goals of a mission-driven organization. Using Squarespace's events feed, SHLT lets visitors know what's coming up and folks can export the event right to their calendars or get directions to the venue.

Champlain Islands Grown Guide Screen Shot

As part of the build, the SHLT was looking to digitize their Islands Grown Guide to help residents and visitors find local food in the Champlain Islands Region. A separate site from the main SHLT site, the Islands Grown guide helps consumers find the products they seek in the Islands.
